Fettuccine Alfredo

This is a copycat recipe for the Olive Garden’s Alfredo sauce.  I originally found this recipe at www.cdkitchen.com and have made just a few little tweaks of my own along the way.  We serve this on fettuccine or linguini, depending on what I have on hand.

Note:  The below recipe makes enough sauce to generously sauce a full pound of pasta.  I typically half the recipe and use a half-pound of pasta for just the three of us.

1 pint heavy cream
1/2 cup butter
2 tablespoons cream cheese
1 cup Italian blend cheese
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt

In a saucepan combine butter, heavy cream, and cream cheese.
Simmer this until all is melted, and mixed well. Add the cheese and garlic powder and salt.
Simmer this for about 15-20 (or 30-ish, if you live in high altitude like us) minutes on low.
