First Road Trip – 13 Months
Zachary’s first trip out of town was to the Boise area to visit Grandma and Grandpa.
Walking “For Real” – 12 1/2 Months
We’re in trouble now! Just a couple weeks after Zachary took that nice, long stroll on Christmas Eve, it’s time to admit that we have a walker on our hands! On 1/9/2011, Zachary walked all the way across the living room to Momma’s waiting arms!
On Our Way to Walking – 12/24/2010
Over the past couple of months, Zachary has occasionally taken one-three steps all by himself. The first night this happened (sorry, we forgot to note the date!), he did it for Daddy and Daddy alone. Momma had gone outside to check the mail and heard Daddy exclaim “Good job, Zachary!” as she was walking back up the driveway. Daddy sheepishly confessed that he had just witnessed Zachary’s first steps when Momma came inside asking “WHAT did he do?!?” On Christmas Eve, Zachary took his longest stroll yet (6-7 steps) while Momma, Daddy, Grandma, Grandpa, and Uncle Dave all looked on with held breath, then cheered him on excitedly.
Gives High-Five- 12 Months
Momma and Daddy have been trying to teach Zachary high-five for quite sometime, but it was Uncle Dave who succeeded! So far, this is something special just between Zachary and Uncle Dave, as he stares blankly at anyone else who asks for “five.” Hopefully, the rest of us will get in on the game soon.
Plays Peek-a-Boo and So Big- 11 Months
Waves Hello and Good Bye- 10 Months
Walks Along Furniture- 9 1/2 Months
With the help of the living room furniture, Zachary is cruising all over the place!
Pulls Self Up to Standing – 8 1/2 Months
After a week’s worth of Zachary’s daycare teachers reporting that he’d been pulling himself up in his crib, Momma finally got to see him do it at home when he pulled himself up using one of his toys on 9/4/2010. Hopefully Daddy will get to witness it soon, too!
Crawling – 8 Months
After about 6 weeks of being "so close," Zachary is crawling! He took his first shaky journey on Saturday, August 8. By the middle of that week, he was crawling like a pro!
First "Real" Food – 6/18/2010
Zachary entered the world of food (above and beyond rice cereal) with his first taste of sweet potatoes.
Sits Unassisted – 6 Months
Just in time for his 6 month portraits, Zachary was sitting up all by himself!
First Teeth – 5/20/2010
Finally, months of teething symptoms paid off when Zachary’s first two teeth (bottom, front) broke through.
Sits Assisted – 5 Months
Zachary began to sit with a little help from Momma, Daddy (or a Boppy at daycare).
Rolled Over – 4/25/2010
Zachary rolled from his back to his tummy while in his crib at bedtime.
Slept Through the Night – 2/1/2010
Zachary slept from 10pm-5am!
First Smile – 1/12/2010
Zachary and Momma were up for a middle of the night nursing session. While we snuggled together in the glider, I amused myself by mimicking some of the silly faces Zachary was making. And that’s when he made the very best face I’ve seen yet…his first REAL smile! Oh, I was so proud and excited when I saw that beautiful smile appear. It took everything that I had not to run into our bedroom and wake James to share the news! James got his very own smile for the first time that following Saturday morning while we were having some snuggle time in bed.
